Dear New Mama,
Let’s have a real talk for a minute.
You have approximately 4,000 photos of your baby already, don’t you? (And that’s just from last Tuesday.) Every little yawn, every tiny stretch, every slightly cross-eyed newborn stare—it’s all there.
But can I ask you something important?
How many of those photos have you actually stepped into?
If you’re like most new moms, the answer is probably...not enough.
And it’s not because you don’t want to. It’s because you’re tired.
It’s because your hair is doing something suspicious.
It’s because you don’t feel like yourself right now.
I get it. I’ve been there, too.
But I’m here to gently tell you—you deserve to be in the photos, too.
You Are Not “Too Tired” or “Not Ready”
Listen, I know you don’t feel camera-ready.
But here's the truth that no one shouts loudly enough over the sound of white noise machines and bottle sterilizers: your baby doesn’t care.
They don’t see dark circles under your eyes.
They don’t notice if your shirt has a little spit-up on the sleeve.
They just see their safe place. Their whole world. Their everything.
When they’re older and flipping through albums (because yes, we are absolutely printing your photos, not just leaving them in a cloud somewhere), they won’t look at you and see "imperfections."
They’ll see love. Real, raw, all-in, soul-deep love.
You Are Part of Their Story
The early days are a haze—diapers, feeding schedules, and wondering if it’s still acceptable to drink coffee at 9 p.m. (Answer: yes.)
But amid all the chaos, something incredible is happening: You’re becoming someone’s forever home.
And that deserves to be documented.
Not just photos of your baby solo—but photos of you holding them, loving them, being their person.
You are not just a bystander in their story.
You are the beginning of it.
Let Go of "Perfect"
Perfection is overrated—and honestly, a little boring.
The magic lives in the unposed, the slightly messy, the real moments.
That soft kiss on their forehead. That sleepy snuggle. That tiny hand wrapped around your finger.
You don't need a magazine makeover to belong in your baby's memories.
You just need to show up—exactly as you are today.
One Day, You'll Be So Grateful You Did
One day, that squishy little newborn will be taller than you, slamming the fridge door while mumbling about dinner.
(And you’ll still be asking if they want a snack, because that’s just what moms do.)
When that day comes, you'll look at these photos and remember.
You'll remember the weight of them in your arms.
The sleepy sighs. The way they fit perfectly against your chest.
And more importantly, they’ll remember you, too.
The love. The comfort. The home.
So, dear mama:
Step into the frame.
Be part of the story.
Give yourself—and your baby—the gift of being seen.
You’ll never regret it. I promise.
Let’s plan a newborn session where you’re in the photos, too. Reach out here!
