Senior year has a way of catching you off guard. One minute you are in the middle of normal, everyday life, and the next you are talking about graduation, college, and what comes next. I am in this season now with my own kids, and I can tell you it goes by faster than you think it will. That is why these photos matter. It's not that you need something elaborate, it's that this is one of the last times you get them like this. Still at home and in your everyday life. They are about to launch so let's give you something to hold onto.
“Samantha is absolutely amazing and so welcoming! She takes the time to truly get to know her clients, what they envision for their pictures, and makes them feel so comfortable. I had such a fun experience with her with getting my graduation pictures done with her and will be coming back to her in the future!”
I guide you through locations, outfits, and every detail so your senior's personality shines through. When it's all said and done, you'll have more than beautiful images. You'll have artwork that celebrates this milestone for years to come.
Most families invest $750-$1800 on their finished artwork and images.
FAQ
When should senior photos be taken?
I recommend scheduling senior portraits during the summer before senior year or in the early fall of senior year. This gives plenty of time for yearbook deadlines, graduation announcements, gifts for family members, and artwork for your home. That said, there is no "perfect" month.
What should seniors wear for portraits?
The best outfits are the ones that feel like you.
I always recommend choosing clothing that fits well, feels comfortable, and reflects your personality. Classic, timeless pieces tend to photograph beautifully and age well, while large logos and trendy graphics can sometimes distract from the focus of the image.
Most seniors choose a mix of casual and dressier outfits to create variety. Once you're booked, I'll help guide you through outfit selections so you feel confident and prepared before your session.
Can we use multiple locations?
Absolutely. One of the things I love about senior sessions is creating a portrait experience that feels personal to each senior. During the planning process, I'll help you choose locations that work well together, fit your senior's personality, and provide plenty of variety without feeling rushed. The goal is to create a collection of portraits that feels uniquely them while making the most of our time together.
How many outfits should I bring?
Most seniors bring two to four outfits, depending on the amount of variety they'd like in their portraits and whether or not we are incorporating cap and gown or saving that for a later date. During the planning process, we'll discuss your vision for the session and decide what makes the most sense for you.
What happens if it rains?
Living on the Crystal Coast means we learn quickly that weather forecasts are more of a suggestion than a guarantee. The good news is that I always build flexibility into my schedule for outdoor sessions. If conditions aren't safe or won't allow us to create beautiful images, we'll simply move to a backup date.
I keep a close eye on the forecast leading up to your session and will communicate with you every step of the way. There's no need to stress about watching the weather yourself.
How long does a senior session take?
Most senior sessions last about an hour, though the exact timing can vary depending on locations, outfit changes, and the overall vision for the session. I don't believe in rushing seniors through a checklist of poses. This is an exciting milestone, and I want you to have time to relax, settle in, and enjoy the experience.
Can you help me with creating graduation announcements, albums, or wall art?
Absolutely, and it's one of the biggest reasons families choose Samantha Ann Photo. From graduation announcements and gift prints to albums and wall art, I'll help you create artwork that celebrates this milestone and can be enjoyed long after graduation day. During your ordering appointment, I'll guide you through the options and help you choose the products that best fit your family, your home, and how you'd like to enjoy your portraits for years to come.
