PLANNING YOUR SENIOR SESSION
Parents, we get an average of 18 summers with our children. I understand the significance of this milestone in your child's life and would love to offer some tips to make this session this most personal to your teen and to take the stress off of you, the parent, in making this easy decision.
WHAT, WHERE, WHEN
WHERE? Outdoor or in studio. Are you looking for more of a traditional or lifestyle experience? I, personally, recommend studio for cap and gown and outdoor for lifestyle.
WHEN? I recommend booking the FALL of Senior year on the Coast. We have the perfect temperatures to capture seasonal clothing choices and our Crystal Coast sunsets are truly magical. Looking specifically for cap and gown images, book a Spring session to capture these.
DRESS? If you are taking cap and gown photos, you should consider at least one additional casual outfit to showcase your teen's personality from this time.

WHAT TO WEAR
01.
DRESS IS BEST
It's really more of a preference but most of our female Seniors enjoy wearing a dress for this special occasion. Please select something that is comfortable, does not expose bra straps, and is properly fitting. Choose shoes that you can walk well in especially if we are shooting outdoors.
02.
CASUAL WEAR?
Casual wear that reflects your personality is certainly welcome! Please avoid large logos and patterns (unless school uniform) and select complimentary colors to your skin tone. I recommend steering away from colors that excessively bright in nature and choosing cool tones that compliment our coastal surroundings.
03.
UNIFORMS
Does your school require a uniform or are you a band student or athletic participant? Consider incorporating your uniform or an accessory from this past time.
TIMELESS CAPTURES
As someone who displays her grandmother and father's high school portraits in her home, I appreciate tradition. While the classic drape photo for the yearbook is a staple in American culture, capturing lifestyle portraits has become more common as a way to look back and truly relive the personality and experience of younger years. One of my favorite things to do during this time, is to ask the parents if there is a pose they wish to recreate from younger years to display growth over time. Senior lifestyle sessions are vital to capturing the personality of your child as they enter into the next phase of life.
