Every year around this time, my inbox fills with one question: “Are you still doing Christmas photos?”

And every year, I smile, because Christmas sessions aren’t just about the photos. They’re about the pause. The chance to slow down in the middle of the chaos, pull your family close, and capture what truly matters.

Between the shopping, school parties, and holiday events, December has a way of blurring together. But years from now, when the decorations are long gone and the toys are forgotten, these portraits will be what remains as a tangible piece of your family’s story from this exact season of life.

As a Swansboro photographer, I’ve learned that no two holiday sessions are ever the same. Some are filled with toddlers giggling over twinkle lights. Others are families in coordinating pajamas but every one of them holds a little bit of magic. In the studio, the atmosphere feels warm and calm with soft light, cozy textures, and the scent of holidays. Families step in from the cold and remember why they came: not just for a photo, but for a moment together.

I guide gently, photograph naturally, and help families see the beauty that’s already there. The session itself becomes a memory worth keeping. When we turn these images into framed prints, canvases, and/or holiday cards, they carry that warmth into your home and into the homes of everyone who receives them.

If you’ve been thinking about Christmas photos this year, I would love to create something that feels like your family: genuine, joyful, and timeless.
