One of the first things I help my families with is choosing what to wear. You don’t have to guess what will photograph well or dig through Pinterest for hours. I’ll guide you based on the time of day, your session location, and your personal style so everything feels cohesive and true to you. Soft, neutral tones (like ivory, taupe, pale blues, and gentle greens) tend to pair beautifully with the beach. Flowy dresses, linen shirts, rolled sleeves… we’re going for movement, not perfection. This is not the time for stiff collars or high heels, it’s about capturing connection and comfort in the most natural way.
And yes, I have backup suggestions for toddlers who won’t wear what you picked. It’s okay.
Here’s What to Expect During Your Session:
Before your session, you’ll get all the prep you need: timing, location details, weather considerations, and how to prepare the kids. Most sessions are scheduled for sunset, depending on your preference and availability. That dreamy, glowy light you love? That’s when it happens.
When you arrive, I’ll gently guide you through natural posing and prompts, with plenty of breaks to just be. We’re not aiming for perfect smiles (though we will always offer to start with the classic full family photo), we’re capturing your family as you are in this moment: connected, happy, and present. Sessions typically last 45-60 minutes, and most families walk away surprised by how easy it felt. You don’t need to perform or plan for perfection. Just show up. As your photographer, I'll take care of the rest.
