Think about it: your LinkedIn profile, your website, speaking engagements, business cards, and even press features all require a strong, professional image. But does one photo fit every situation? Probably not.
A polished, confident studio headshot is great for LinkedIn, but a more relaxed, approachable portrait might work better for your website or social media. If you’re a speaker or business owner, having a variety of images ensures you always have the right photo for the right audience.
Your brand isn’t one-dimensional and your headshots shouldn’t be either.
What to Wear
When deciding what to wear for your new headshot or brand session, consider your role and colors that compliment your skin tones. You cannot go wrong with neutrals if seeking a professional look. A colorful tie can demonstrate playfulness without distracting from professionalism.
- A jacket is always a good idea.
- You can't go wrong with a button up shirt. Make sure there is no pulling in the buttons at the chest. A v-neck blouse is also a great alternative.
- Avoid large, loud patterns.
- Keep makeup subtle.
- Bring a lint roller and hairbrush just in case.
- Consider tying your tie beforehand so you can change them quickly.
- Schedule your mani within the last week so your nails are fresh.
- Please do not wear a hair tie on your wrist.
- If you watch tan bothers you - you may leave your watch on.
- Consider a hair style that is consistent with your regular routine. This is not the time to try something new.
- Avoid bright colors like fire engine red and neon colors.
- If you have red undertones in your skin, acne, or rosacea, we recommend avoiding red/pink in your choice of top.
- Keep jewelry minimal if you are doing a singular headshot.
MULTIPLE OUTFITS AND BRANDING
Think about where your headshot appears—LinkedIn, your website, speaking engagements, even printed materials. Does one single image represent everything you bring to the table?
Having a variety of headshots: formal, relaxed, and personality-driven, ensures you always have the right image for the right setting. Your online presence should match your expertise and approachability, and a single photo really can’t do it all.
If you'd like to do outfit changes, you will need to book or upgrade to a brand session that allows for additional time. The booking fee is $149 and includes 2 web files.
Each additional web files is an additional charge.
FINAL IMAGES
Final images are retouched same-day and sent to our clients same day for download. Please note that additional digital images files are sold separately and are $45 each. Your session and images are a tax-deductible expense.
